Remains gathers black-and-white photographs of found fragments, stains, leaves and animal remains encountered along repeated urban routes. Sitting beside Crush, it shifts attention from compressed packaging towards things washed together, left exposed or caught between recognition and disappearance. Heavy rain draws loose matter into gutters and roadsides, turning the pavement into a cabinet of curiosities where accidental assemblages and collages briefly suggest narrative or action.
Across the sequence, fragments become maps, leaves suggest flight, stains open into landscapes, and bones, feathers and wings hover between stillness and movement. The photographs suspend these forms between object, evidence and image, allowing the ordinary, the macabre and the darkly comic to occupy the same ground without treating the fragments as complete evidence or fixing their meanings.
The series remains open, shaped by repeated routes, weather and seasonal return. What appears discarded, fallen or finished can briefly become figure, landscape, tableau or gesture, with flight recurring as both movement and memory.
